Born and raised in Agrigento, I studied Classics at the University of Palermo, where I earned my PhD in Classical Civilization and Literature in 2006.
I also studied at the LMU-Universität (Munich, Germany - 2003), and at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles, CA - 2004). After my PhD, I tought Latin Language and Literature and Classical Civilization at UCLA (2007-2008), and Digital Humanities at the University of Palermo (2008-2009). My publications in the field of Classics are described in my academic CV.
During vacations, I come back to Agrigento to discover the life of the ancient world beyond the yellow rocks of the Valley's monuments, together with the visitors of the "most beautiful city of the mortals" (as ancient Greek poet Pindar sung).
